BRANDON, Iowa — Aug. 28, 2026 — Work on an asphalt resurfacing project on Interstate 380 between Iowa 150 and Black Hawk County Road D-48 near Brandon continues. Crews completed resurfacing last year, but soil needs to be added next to the paved shoulder. This will be graded and seeded, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation's New Hampton construction office.

To complete their work, crews will close the outside lanes in both directions of I-380 starting on Tuesday, Sept. 8, until Sept. 30, weather permitting. Once work on the outside shoulders is completed, inside lane closures will be in place so the same work can be performed along the shoulders of the inside lanes of I-380.

For updates on this and other Iowa DOT construction projects in Black Hawk and Bremer counties, follow the Black Hawk and Bremer County Construction page on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BlackHawkBremerCo#!BlackHawkBremerCo.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
