AMES, Iowa – Sept. 18, 2026 – Learn about the planned project on Iowa 141 north of Ute in Monona County.
What’s Planned?
- A bridge replacement on Iowa 141 over the Soldier River north of Ute.
- Portions of 170th Street that connect to Iowa 141 on both the north and south side of the bridge will be realigned.
This planned project has been determined to be the safest and most cost-effective solution. Most of the design work is set; however, minor changes may still be made as we move closer to construction.
Construction Timing and Traffic Impacts
Construction is expected to take place in 2029.
During the reconstruction of the project, traffic will be detoured using an offsite detour.
