CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — Oct. 9, 2026 — Drivers on southbound Interstate 380 should expect delays because a lane will be closed between mile markers 19.5 and 21, and the B Avenue on-ramp to southbound I-380 will also be closed beginning Sunday night, Oct. 11, until Sunday, Oct. 18, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Cedar Rapids construction office. Drivers in the area should expect delays. Crews are repairing a bridge.

8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23 to 6 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26

  • Crews will close a lane on southbound I-380 between mile markers 19.5 and 21, and the exit ramp to 1st Avenue.
  • Crews will also close the southbound I-380 on-ramp at B Avenue. Drivers should follow the marked detour route during the ramp closures.

The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
