POLK CITY, Iowa – Oct. 9, 2026 – Iowa 415 between West Bridge Road in Polk City to Beaver Avenue, and the Mile Long Bridge near Polk City will close at 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, until 5 a.m. Friday, Oct. 16, so crews can patch the roadway west of the bridge and the bridge deck, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Des Moines maintenance office.
No detour will be marked, so drivers should plan to use another route during the closure.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
