AMES, Iowa – Nov 3, 2026 – Join us to learn about the planned reconstruction on U.S. 151 from the west city limits of Fairfax to Benton County Road E-66 (Norway Corner).
What’s Planned?
- Complete road reconstruction.
- Paved shoulders where possible.
- Center two-way left turn lane through Walford.
Construction Timing and Traffic Impacts
Construction is planned to take place in two phases: one in 2027 and a second in 2028.
During the reconstruction of the project, traffic will be detoured using, Johnson County Road F-12 (120th Street), Interstate 380, and U.S. 30.

When: Tuesday Nov. 10, 2026, anytime between 5 and 7 p.m.
