AMES, Iowa – Sept. 5, 2025 – Tell us what you think about proposed improvements to the following U.S. 30 intersections in Boone:
- U.S. 30 and SE Marshall Street/Crown Flair Drive
- U.S. 30 and Corporal Roger Snedden Drive/Quill Avenue
Changes include the construction of a roundabout at each of the intersections to improve safety and reduce crashes.
During the construction of the roundabout, traffic on U.S. 30 will be staged in a manner that will allow the highway to stay open to traffic. Crown Flair Drive will also remain open during construction. There will be closures of SE Marshall Street as well as Corporal Roger Snedden Drive/Quill Avenue during certain phases of the construction and traffic on these roads will have a detour.
Construction is expected to start spring of 2027 and end fall of 2028.
