POLK CITY, Iowa – Oct. 23, 2025 – Nighttime pavement work to patch the pavement on Iowa 415 in Polk City will require closing the roadway to traffic from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. starting on Wednesday, Oct. 29, weather permitting, according to the Iowa Department of Transportation’s Des Moines maintenance office. Work will also take place on Oct. 30, Nov. 2, and Nov. 3. Iowa 415 will be closed from 3rd Street in Polk City to NW Beaver Drive west of the Mile Long Bridge.
When the roadway is closed, you are encouraged to use NW 26th Street, NW 66th Avenue, and NW Beaver Drive to get around the closure.
The Iowa DOT reminds motorists to drive with caution, obey the posted speed limit and other signs in the work area, and be aware that traffic fines for moving violations are at least double in work zones. As in all work zones, drivers should stay alert, allow ample space between vehicles, and wear seat belts.
