3C-10: Earth Shoulder Construction and Earth Shoulder Finishing

Generally, Earth Shoulder Construction for pavements and bases relates to the earthwork above subgrade elevation, adjacent to the sides of pavement or base.  It may involve minor or major reshaping and replacement of embankment material.  Earth Shoulder Finishing relates to earthwork adjacent to curb and gutter.  Refer to Section 2123 of the Standard Specifications for information regarding earth shoulder construction or finishing.

Earth Shoulder Construction and Earth Shoulder Finishing should not be bid for the same shoulders.
